los textos normativos que actúan en el espacio del lenguaje y
que son elaborados, en general, desde el aparato estatal o desde
entidades suprarregionales como leyes, reglamentaciones,
resoluciones, decretos, acuerdos, informes institucionales, se
pueden escudriñar un conjunto de documentos extremadamente
heterogéneo a partir de los cuales se exploran representaciones
y prácticas lingüísticas y discursivas tales como memorias,
biografías, autobiografías, artículos periodísticos, ensayos,
textos de ficción, películas, emisiones radiales o televisivas,
dispositivos de chat electrónicos y digitales, páginas web, foros,
blogs, debates, polémicas, traducciones, dibujos, pinturas, fotos,
avisos y afiches publicitarios. Por otro lado, es bastante habitual
el análisis crítico de textos descriptivo-prescriptivos que regulan
la actividad lingüística y discursiva como son los instrumentos
lingüísticos canónicos (gramáticas, diccionarios y ortografías) y
otros dispositivos de control social como las guías de estilo, las
retóricas, las artes de escribir y de predicar, y los manuales
didácticos.
El libro La eficacia literaria. Configuraciones discursivas de
literatura nacional en manuales argentinos (1866-1947) del
investigador del CONICET afiliado a la Universidad de Buenos
Aires y a la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero Diego
Bentivegna se inscribe en esta línea de trabajo y sienta un
precedente de inestimable valor en ella al abordar materiales
inéditos hasta el momento: su aporte reside en el trabajo con
textos ligados al mundo de la literatura y de su enseñanza en el
sistema educativo secundario argentino. Materiales variados
como programas de estudio, diseños curriculares, memorias e
informes institucionales, reflexiones pedagógicas y, sobre todo,
antologías literarias y manuales de uso escolar de historia de la
literatura constituyen el núcleo sobre el cual gravita el análisis
de su apreciable obra.
El libro que aquí se reseña es la reescritura en una
modalidad amena desde el punto de vista del estilo sin tantos
tecnicismos ni demasiada jerga conceptual para que pueda ser
leído por múltiples destinatarios especialistas desde diferentes
lugares teóricos y posiciones académicas, de una tesis de
doctorado defendida en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la
