Abstract

Organizations use indicators to carry out management control and, in this way, evaluate their competitive performance. Each organization defines its own indicators, depending on the sector in which it operates and the strategy it intends to develop. The implementation and evaluation of the strategy in a retail business, and particularly in the various existing business formats, requires knowledge of the variables that shape its strategic intention. The article reviews the variables that define retail formats and their characterization.
