Abstract
"Huellas migrantes, devenir sonoro de la inmigración ultramarina en Argentina" is a sound installation developed within the framework of the research project "Historical- Sound Map of Argentina" directed by Mg Raúl Minsburg, from the Postgraduate Course in Sound Art of the Argentine National University of Tres de Febrero (UnTref). The Historical-Sound Map of Argentina is an artistic, technological, and musical research project focused on the collection and analysis of representative sound material of Argentina in it´s different historical periods. The objective is to build a representative sound database of cultural value.
"Huellas migrantes, …", focuses on the historical period of European Overseas Immigration which happened between 1880 and 1950. It is conceived as an interactive sculpture that will intervene the space with sounds obtained during the fieldwork and material obtained in existing archives such as the National Library, the General Archive of the Nation, archival interviews from the project “Otras memorias”, among others. This article will seek to account for the progress made in the framework of this research project.
