Abstract

Framed in the research project "Sounds in motion: sound borrows, appropriations and migrations in electroacoustic music" (UNTREF), this article tries to reflect on the implications and uses of quotation as a discursive procedure in the context of electroacoustic music in Latin America. It raises problems such as referentiality, fragmentation, memory, migration and resignification as components that delimit its field of action and exposes an historical framework of its uses. Likewise, five issues to be visualized in the approach to electroacoustic works that use quotations are presented and culminates by commenting on their use in some works by latin american composers belonging to the Latin American Electroacoustic Music Collection of the Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science and Technology (Montreal, Canada), created by the argentine composer Ricardo Dal Farra.
