Abstract

In the framework of the so-called "Knowledge Society", the relationship between universities, companies and governments at different levels, involves the creation of a new scenario, which is forcing universities to develop new capacities and to redefine functions, tasks and structures: universities are being called to reinvent themselves.

This university impulse has been enriched by the implementation of mechanisms tending to the creation of companies within it, multiplying the options for innovators with an entrepreneurial spirit. Some of these mechanisms can be dissemination activities and awareness of entrepreneurship; training activities and training of trainers; incubation and acceleration of companies; obtaining financing and investment; creation or development of entrepreneurial ecosystems.

The Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero is on this path, which has begun to face the mission of promoting the entrepreneurial culture in its community, as well as facilitating the process of creation of innovative companies by its members.

Within this framework of activities that seek to promote entrepreneurial development in the university community, the first edition of the UNTREF Emprende Contest was held, a contest of ideas and entrepreneurial and innovative projects.

In this way, a process of accompaniment and preincubation was started in the Incubator of the University, with the main purpose of formulating and evaluating the business model of each undertaking, technically assisting the entrepreneurial teams, and, if possible, converting these projects in successful and sustainable ventures.

It should be noted that this article does not refer to a research project but to a management experience carried out by the Center for Innovation and Development of Companies and Organizations (CIDEM) and the Secretariat of Research and Development (SID) of the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero.
