Diseño, Implementación y Validación de una Herramienta de Diagnóstico para la incorporación de mejoras en PYMEs industriales

Abstract

Based on a strategic relationship between the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) and the Municipality of Tres de Febrero, a diagnostic tool was designed and validated for the implementation of clean practices and/or technologies for sustainable production in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Science and Technology’s Institute, Research and Development’s Secretary and Hygiene and Work Safety and Environmental Engineering careers participated. The Municipality was represented by the Industry management belonging to the Ministry of Economic Development. An interdisciplinary technical team was formed that designed a diagnostic tool with a survey format to be applied in person during a visit to the company of approximately 3 hours. Three productive SMEs from different fields were selected, which were used as a case study to validate the tool.

In the three companies visited, concrete possibilities of improvement were observed incorporating clean practices and/or technologies. Although there is no generality in the three cases, customers who buy their products seek to be manufactured with greater sustainability practices, the interest and predisposition of those responsible for the three SMEs is considered the main driver for this to happen.

The survey showed to be very valuable since it allowed to cover a wide range of aspects of the company and obtain information to plan the next stage of work, regardless of the degree of specific knowledge of the surveyor in that area. The survey and its user manual will be transferred to the Industry management of the Municipality of Tres de Febrero to be incorporated as a working tool.
