Abstract

The alteration of the air quality has a strong impact on human health, and also on plants and animals. Air pollution is responsible for climate changes and affects important economic activities. The acid rain causes damages to crops, forests, and structures. In order to develop policies to minimize this type of impact, it is essential to periodically measure the state of the atmosphere. The full paper describes an interdisciplinary research project whose aim is to develop an air quality monitoring station. Jointly, the research team is working to design the data storage and data processing system, the calculation of the air quality index and the dissemination of the obtained results.
