Enfoque de formación basada en competencias: análisis de experiencias de formación docente en el nivel superior
Abstract
This work aims to describe the experiences developed by the authors over more than 20 years in higher education institutions, located in diverse contexts. In these institutions, it was decided to implement a curricular innovation called 'competency-based education' in various courses or programs, which is theoretically supported by a pedagogical approach widely disseminated in recent years.
One of the purposes is to align the educational proposal of the course/program with the demands of future professional performance of the graduates. This approach integrates current conceptions of education, effective professional practice, competencies, skills, situated, constructive, and meaningful learning, which enable the development of abilities that form the basis of competent performance
In pedagogical advisory tasks, efforts were made to connect the design of the curricular innovation proposal with the pedagogical development of the teachers. One of the characteristics of the approach used was that , the teachers built their pedagogical knowledge while participating in the design process and developing context-specific teaching and assessment proposals within each institutional setting.
The main significance of this work is to present the approach used for the development of the task carried out with the teachers, analyze and reflect on the impact their participation in the experience had on their professional practice, identify the main obstacles encountered, and propose some guidelines for planning, teaching, and assessment in coherence with the principles and guidelines of the competence-based education approach."
