El Programa de Becas Universitarias (PBU) de Fundación Cimientos: características del dispositivo de acompañamiento y relevancia del enfoque de habilidades socioemocionales en el contexto de pandemia y pospandemia.
Abstract
Although in Argentina the attendance rates at the higher level are high, this does not correspond to high graduation rates or high retention rates. Within this context, both state bodies and Third Sector organizations implement policies and programs to improve academic performance -especially of the most vulnerable sectors of the population- at this level. Fundación Cimientos has been implementing the University Scholarship Program (PBU) for almost 20 years. The PBU provides personalized accompaniment to the academic trajectories of higher level students with a focus on socio-emotional skills. This approach was elaborated within the Program and is based on information collected from the Program participants and from the discussion among tutors of the Program (called “accompaniment managers”) and from a selection of conceptual frameworks available. This article provides a review of the Program's accompaniment methodology, the particularities of the socio-emotional skills approach and its consolidation, and a systematization of the evidence collected about the accompaniment contents’ usefulness in the pandemic and post-pandemic contexts according to the perspective of the Program’s participants.
