Profesión académica, género(s) y académicos en formación. Indicadores descriptivos-correlacionales de tipo transversal desde la base de datos APIKS Argentina.
Abstract
The investigations that are developed from the National University of Mar del Plata, within the framework of the APIKS International Project, aim to analyze the main features of the academic profession, recovering quantitative-statistical aspects of the Argentine and global university system and deepening the qualitative analyzes that They make visible the trajectories and biographies of the academics of our own university. However, in the analysis of the global and local academic profession, as an object of study, the distribution of academics according to category and teaching position can also be complemented with one of the unavoidable aspects in the study of the field, which is the question of gender and its traversals in academics in training. Regarding the gender variable, in recent decades in Argentina, the relationship has balanced. Retrieving the latest data from the university statistical yearbooks of the Secretariat for University Policies (SPU) we can share that, for the entire national university system, the relationship between genders continues in relative balance. In the case of the APIKS Argentina database, the percentages yield similar and dissimilar results according to the proposed cross-references of information. In this article, we analyze the trends of the activities carried out by academics in training according to their gender and the way in which said gender affects the type of activity that academics in training declare to carry out. The resulting indicators will be complemented with the findings achieved in a recently completed doctoral thesis and in a master's thesis in progress
