Abstract
At the turn of the 19th century, the Buenos Aires cultural scene evidenced a singular opening towards a new figure: the woman artist. As a matter of fact, several intelectual sectors expressed novel ideas about the relation between women and creativity. This article seeks to explore, through two examples, some careers of women artists in the fin-de-siècle period and to evaluate the characteristics of their complex incorporation in one key survey of art in Argentina.
