Abstract
Néstor García Canclini proposes an interpellation of the critical interventions of artists and curatorial practices by generating networks with multiple locations. He does so through the tensions involved in the locations and dislocations in the global space of biennials, art fairs and exhibitions. According the author’s standpoint, it is necessary to reflect upon migrations and the various locations on the new world maps and in turn, to string together and design images and scenes that account for the current breakdown of capitalism, geopolitical divisions and the various experiences entailed by interculturalism. To such a purpose, García Canclini encourages the use of sensitive, formal and imaginary resources pertaining to both the cultural ecology of the artists and contemporary coexistence modalities. In this regard, the idea is to create a critical diagnosis that deconstructs heritages – in a territorial sense – and accompanies trans-territorial movements that provide intersection and cultural displacement clues as well as and forms of plural translation and interdisciplinary work.
