Aproximación a los programas de formación pedagógica continua del profesorado universitario en la UNS y la UNLP mediante un modelo de análisis ad hoc

Abstract

In recent decades, many of Argentina's national universities have promoted programmes of continuing teacher training for their own teaching staff. This represents a paradigm shift with respect to the traditional view that university teaching requires only extensive knowledge of the discipline to be taught. The way in which universities have dealt with this issue has been extremely diverse. This paper presents an introduction to continuing professional development for university teachers, as well as a synthesis of various regulations and guidelines established at local, national and regional levels. Subsequently, two particular cases are analysed: the Teacher Training Programme of the Universidad Nacional del Sur and the Continuous Teacher Training and Updating Programme of the Universidad Nacional de la Plata. To this end, based on an exploration of academic antecedents, a compilation of axes of analysis was drawn up, which offers valuable categories to characterise this type of programme.
