Abstract
This article takes a tour of the main problems linked to the physical environments of the elderly. Aging is a demographic revolution that will take place in the Latin American region in the coming decades; the challenges have to do not only with accounting for the increase in the proportion of older people with their characteristics and heterogeneity, but also to generating processes of inclusion of this growing population in the area in which they live their daily lives. For this we will introduce the articulation of old age policies with urban policies that have taken place in the region in various areas in the last twenty years as well as some indicators designed to account for the adaptability of the environment to the reality of the old age (public transport, accessibility, urban safety).
