Abstract

From promotion of social work in social programs cooperatives to social salary in popular economy. Transformations in the transfer of income for work in Argentina.

The article reconstructs the strategy of the Argentine government social policy linked to income transfers within the framework of experiences of associative, cooperative and popular economy, and disputes on the meaning of the work and the collective organization that they involve. It also analyzes the rationale under the inclusion of cooperative work as a framework for the carrying out of the work and as a condition for the granting of a direct transfer of income during the period 2003-2015, and the rupture resulting in the new orientation of transfers “without cooperatives” and the creation of Supplementary Social Wage, a rupture brought about by the new government that took over in December 2015. The results presented in this text are based on a qualitative field work and the documentary analysis.
