Abstract
The present work sets out to address the treatment of the gender perspective in the Annual Survey of Households of the City, as an indispensable statistical tool for the design, monitoring and evaluation of urban social policies. In order to achieve this purpose, the article, in the first place, performs a background review, experiences and recommendations that allow us to know what to look for in light of international and national agreements. Secondly, the elaboration of an analysis matrix that proposes dimensions and indicators as a lens to investigate statistical tools, as well as providing other dimensions/ indicators that may be useful in approaching statistics from a gender perspective. Thirdly, the application of the gender approach to the EAH as it is a periodic production tool that provides comprehensive information on the population of the City. This analysis will account for the status and coherence of this treatment and also for the available information, its scope and limitations, as a basic instrument for any study of social policy in the City.
