Abstract

The objective of this review was to analyze the contributions of studies on Learning Management Systems in higher education, based on a literature review of empirical research in America in the last seven years, for which 33 studies were selected. Three papers published in databases between 2015 and 2021, which focus on Learning Management Systems (LMS) implemented in higher education centers. The methodology used involved the planning of the literature review, the search and selection of the corpus of documents. Among these findings, it was found that most of the studies have been carried out in the United States of America; they have mainly implemented quantitative methodologies based on surveys; in general, they do not present in-depth work on the conceptualization of LMSs and reveal non-complex uses by teachers, such as sending emails or storing documents to share with other users.
