Abstract
By rescuing numerous sources, organizing and analyzing them, Dr. Khatchig Mouradian refutes the literature that argues that the few opportunities in which Armenian communities resisted the massacres and deportations, they did so by taking up arms. This author, throughout his text, provides a reversal of this narrative that places Armenians as mere passive recipients of genocidal violence - or as objects of Western humanitarianism - and presents them as organized and active subjects in the face of the policies orchestrated by the Turkish Committee of Union and Progress.
