Abstract

This article is the result of an investigative work that explores the process undergone by those who identify themselves as complainants within The Cause in Argentina against the impunity of Franco's crimes.  Specifically, my interest lies in revealing the way in which the criminal action in Argentina is constructed both from a legal and political point of view and the way in which it is signified and adopted by those who intervene ascomplainant. As a broader objective, I intend to contribute from social anthropology to the knowledge of the ways in which "universal justice" is updated through legal spaces and tools at a level that is not only transnational but fundamentally within the framework of local political actions and initiatives.
