Abstract

This paper depicts results of an 18-month ethnographic research, in traditional urban neighborhoods, usually called “Barrios”, in the city of San Luis Potosí, México. Nowadays, these places deal with several social and space problems, defined here as pauperization. Research focuses on analyzing its territorial configurations –through identifying temporal traces and changes in its physical, geographical, discursive, and social-action frontiers–, in order to clear out how social space crisis in these neighborhoods get involved with power and inequality relations.
