In San Luis genocidals are also judged: the impact of trials in the province

Abstract

Between 2008 and 2019, three trials related to State crimes committed by the last dictatorship were held in the province of San Luis. In this article we propose to approach their impact on the provincial society from the perspective of the accuser part. We consider these instances as spaces for the elaboration of the traumatic experience of genocide, as instances of memory construction, in which the application of a penalty for a crime is exceeded in order to challenge society as a whole. Likewise, we intend to explore the specific features that the trials acquire in San Luis.
