Abstract
The present article has as its theme the internationalization of higher education in the Ibero-American context, and it is developed in the Nucleus of Studies and Research in Policies and Processes of Higher Education - NEPPES, in the Integrated Regional University of Alto Uruguai and Missões - Brazil. The objective of this research is to analyze the educational policies concerning the process of internationalization (Knight, 2008) of higher education, in order to understand the approximations and distances of the educational realities of Brazil, belonging to the region of Latin America, and of Spain, belonging to Europe and ascribed to the European Space for Higher Education. The investigation is of a theoretical-bibliographical nature, and its approach is qualitative, through the use of the comparative analysis method (Santamaría, 1983), (Malet, 2004). The results allowed an approximation with the need to internationalize the teaching, research and transfer of knowledge, which cannot be done without a pillar offered in the legislative provisions, nor so little solo with the qualification agencies. On the other hand, some distances regarding the differences exposed in the sense that the regulation and policy determination regarding internationalization in Brazil and Spain are granted.
